Chris Durkin

Senior Consultant

Chris Durkin is a senior consultant and Certified ScrumMaster with over 14 years experience as a software developer, architect, and project manager. He enjoys solving difficult problems, helping customers achieve results through the application of Agile disciplines, and mentoring fellow developers.

His current focus is service oriented architectures, WCF, and Windows Mobile, but Chris has a wide range of experience and does not consider himself married to any particular set of technologies. A VB programmer of old, he happily switched to C# when it arrived, and was thankful to have skipped over Java. Chris is a Python enthusiast, and is not above writing some hardcore JavaScript when the situation calls for it. He is a long-time SQL Server developer and DBA, and enjoys nothing more than speeding up a query by orders of magnitude through the judicious use of SHOWPLAN and index tuning.

Durkin believes that NUnit and CruiseControl.NET are the best developer tools ever written. He is a passionate adherent of test-driven development, continuous integration, and iterative project planning. He can often be found evangelizing these concepts or doing other subversive things to make every project more Scrum-like.

When he's not writing code Chris can usually be found wandering the Pacific Northwest with his wife kids and dog, swimming in the nearest body of water, or training for triathlons.
