Margaret Meier de Cox

Margaret began working as a professional technical trainer in 1998. Combining years of prior experience in the technical, marketing, and training arenas, she began teaching web design-related courses for Auburn Montgomery’s Advanced Training Group and other clients including the National Criminal Justice Association. Since then, she has regularly led formal training classes for Auburn University teaching Internet-related technologies, graphic art and design courses. She has become their lead trainer for Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Expression Studio software.

 

Since the introduction of Silverlight, Margaret has trained and consulted with clients via Dunn Training in the use of Blend to create rich internet applications. Working with Expression Studio and Visual Studio to graphically create prototypes, web pages, and XAML code for developers to finalize.

 

Margaret started her career as an engineer. She has over 28 years experience teaching computer and programming skills, implementing computer and communications systems and developing computers as management tools. Working for Milacron, she programmed some of the first “numerically-controlled” machine tools. At Caterpillar, she worked in Technical Marketing and used IBM mainframe systems to analyze vehicle registration and marketing data collected nationwide. For the next thirteen years, she worked, both on Active Duty and as a contractor, for the Air Force and DOD on advanced networking and wireless computer systems. She was a member of the primary Air Force team building the DOD internet backbone, spearheaded development of the first wireless terminals for the flight line, and worked on the DOD team creating regional DOD computer centers.
