Beta of PowerCollections 1.0 now available

I've uploaded a new drop of Power Collections. This is quite close to what will be released as the 1.0 release of Power Collections, there are just a few more things to do (mainly making the classes serializable). You can consider this the “Beta“ release of PowerCollection 1.0. Any feedback that can be provided will be very useful to getting the final 1.0 release as good as possible. I'm aiming toward the 1.0 release at the end of June. I'm short of time right this minute; I'll post more details soon on the changes since the last drop.

Peter,

I feel bad that I have not been actively involved in reviewing your PowerCollections project, but I want you to know that I support what you are doing.

I've been developing a commercial application for 18 months now, and as part of this I've created a great many collections classes of my own. Naturally, many of these have parallels in your PowerCollections library. I've been aware of the PowerCollections project for about 6 months, and I've always had every intention of switching to it as soon as it is stable. It looks like that time has now come.

I've been unwilling to use your pre-release builds in my application, and I've been too busy to put any serious effort into reviewing your classes, but sadly this means I have not been participating in your feedback process, and if things are not to my liking, I guess I've only myself to blame. In fact, I've only posted about 3 comments over the past 6 months, which is not very helpful really. This is unfortunate, since I feel I have a lot to offer.

I suspect that there are many people in my situation. Now that you have posted a 'beta' release, which implies it is stable enough to be tried out for serious use, people will start to use it, but now it is probably too late for any feedback to have an affect on your v1 release.

With a view to taking the plunge and adopting your classes in my production code, I have some questions:

- What is the future of PowerCollections?

- How many releases do you foresee?

- Are you prepared to make code-breaking changes for v2?

- If I commit to using it and start to depend on it, what guarantees do I have that it will continue to be supported?

- Are you going to support it, or is Microsoft going to adopt it?
