This month we feature Wintellect co-founder, Jeffrey Richter. A Microsoft-proclaimed “Software Legend,” Jeffrey shares with us a little about his life in and out of the software space.
June 2014: Jeffrey Richter
Here Again. Home is Kirkland, WA – The Seattle suburb where, in addition to housing the Richter family, Costco was started and the Seattle Seahawks team headquarters and training facility were for their first 32 seasons.
Finding My Way. In 5th grade I was introduced to computers and programming in school and fell in love instantly. I’ve been doing it ever since.
Working Man. My favorite project is, without question, WintellectNOW. I love how I got to be involved in so many aspects of a commercial service. I got to explore the business model, work with lawyers on the contracts, work with authors on content, help with marketing, architect the system, negotiate contracts for companion services, manage the user experience designers and other software developers, etc.… Read more

Today is an exciting day for WintellectNOW and our customers in India. At the Great Indian Developer Summit in Bangalore, we unveiled our introductory regional pricing.
We recognize that economics vary based on countries and regions. We believe all developers will benefit from our in-depth technical library and want to make it as accessible to the people in India as it is to the people in North America and Europe
To that end, effective immediately developers in India will benefit from special introductory rates of $9 USD for monthly subscriptions and $100 USD for annual subscriptions.
Developers interested in purchasing a monthly or annual subscription should visit https://www.wintellectnow.com/Account/Register. The system will know where the customer is located based on his or her IP address and will prepopulate the billing schedule field with the amounts currently available to that customer. … Read more
Today was a great day at the Great Indian Developer Summit at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore. The excitement about WintellectNOW in India is intoxicating. Developers were thrilled to hear of our India pricing and were equally excited by the 14-day trial each attendee received just for being at the show.
We were able to spend some time with our Delhi-based WintellectNOW author, Sathyaish Chakravarthy, which was wonderful for all of us. We got a chance to know him a little better and talk with him about some additional videos he’d like to produce (keep your eyes open for those in the near future).
We were busy at the booth all day, talking with friends – old and new – about WintellectNOW. Our booth couldn’t be in a better spot, as people have to pass us to go from one room to the next. This makes for ample opportunities to chat.
Jeff delivered three talks – HTML5: The Good, the Bad, and Everything in Between; Tap and Go: Proximity Networking in WinRT; and Contracts in Windows Store Apps – to packed rooms.
The IISc grounds are beautiful – it truly is a wonderful setting for a conference.… Read more
